One of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland is the 200ft high Skogafoss, made more impressive as you stand at the base looking up.

Hveragerdi is known as the greenhouse village because the geothermally heated greenhouses grow all types of fruits and vegetables.

Driving along the coastal road towards the town of Vik, the stark contrast between the white snow and the black sand was astounding. Walking on the beach, you get a glimpse of Dyrholaey, a 400ft high natural arch large enough for ships to pass through. And, incidentially, this is where stupidity always comes in pairs.

Seljalandsfoss waterfall flows over a hollowed out cliff, making it uniquely possible to walk behind the cascading waterfall.

While Reykjavik is more known for its nightlife during the summer months, it didn't disappoint even in the winter. One of us got the full Icelandic hospitality treatment, and unfortunately, it wasn't me.
